There are thousands of sites for online travel bookings. The best online booking sites known Expedia, Lastminute.com,& Travelocity to name but a few. If you just want hotel rooms then Hotels.com is probably the best place for online bookings. You should note though, that these 'General' online booking travel sites don't offer access to some of the low cost carriers, like easyjet. To book reservations on easyjet you need to go direct to their main online booking site.
When making an online booking, a little known fact that when booking at any of the 'General' sites, you end up paying a booking fee to the website operators. This means that you can be far better using the type of online booking sites described above to find the best rates but then save money by going directly to the online booking sites of the actual providers themselves (e.g. hotels, car rental, train, airlines, etc.) and make your reservation.
